Get Paid for your Older Articles— Step-by-Step!

Ensure all your articles are metered so they can earn money after entering the Medium Partner Program.

Once I was accepted into the Program, I thought right away, ‘would my older articles make money?’ and low & behold, when I checked, they said they weren’t metered. I did a little research, but after a bit, I couldn’t find step-by-step instructions. I decided to figure this thing out, and I did. Immediately, I felt that writing an article like this could be fruitful for others when they are asking the same question I was.

So here you are, my step-by-step instructions to ensure you make money on your older articles once you are accepted into the Medium Partner Program. Hopefully, it is clear and concise; please reach out if you have any issues.

Step One: On your Medium home page — click on stories (see below)

Step Two: Go to your published stories, and click the three dots next to each individual story — you have to complete this one story at a time!

Step Three: At the top right, click on the three dots to reveal the menu — see below!

Step Four: Click on Manage Meter Setting

Step Five: This will reveal the box whereby you can Meter Your Story — make sure it’s ticked green, and you are good to go.

Following these steps will ensure that after joining the Program, everything you have written will be metered, and you can make money on each article.

Remember, you have to do this with every article physically, so you have to follow the same steps for each story.
